Nancy Pelosi, the speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, said the council would begin the process of impeachment of U.S. President Donald Trump if Vice President Mike Pence did not agree.
According to CNN, Pelosi said the House will try to pass a resolution to remove Trump with the consent of all, Monday morning local time. Pence and Trump’s cabinet will be called for the 25th amendment to the constitution.
Pelosi added that if the impeachment motion against Trump is not passed unanimously and the Republicans face obstacles, it will be put to a vote again on Tuesday. Pence must respond to the offer within 24 hours. Otherwise, the House will begin the process of impeachment of President Trump. Addressing Democrats, Pelosi said, “Then we will move forward with the impeachment law.
We will works urgently to protects our constitutions and our democracy,” Pelosi saids. Because President Donald Trump is a threat to boths. As the days go by, Trump is becoming more and more a threat to democracy. That is why urgents action needs too be taken.
Democrats in the House have spoken out against the impeachment after the attack on Capitol Hill last Wednesday. Five people, including a U.S. police officer, were killed in the attack on Capitol Hill.
CNN quoted several House officials as saying Democrats were debating whether to hold a vote on Trump’s impeachment. This vote could be on Tuesday or Wednesday.
In an interview with CBS Channel Sixty Minutes, Pelosi said he liked the plan to introduce the 25th Amendment. It will get rid of Trump. Another purpose of the impeachment is to prevent Trump from returning to power.
We will work on an urgent basis to protect our constitution and democracy. Because President Donald Trump is a threat to both. As the days go by, Trump is becoming more and more a threat to democracy. For this reason, urgent steps need to be taken
Pelosi said Congress has strong support for the impeachment of Trump.
The 25th Amendment to the Constitution disqualifies the President from running for office. Vice President Mike Pence has not yet said anything positive. Democrat lawmakers say Congress will make a direct call to the vice president.
