Congress leaders led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will march on the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday in support of farmers protesting India’s controversial agricultural law.
Later they will give a memorandum to the President. They will seek the intervention of the President to solve this problem. This information was given in the report of the news agency ANI.
On Wednesday, Congress MP K Suresh said that Rahul Gandhi had met the President as well as the Leader of the Opposition before resolving the issue of farmers and handed over a memorandum. But so far nothing has been done by the President or the government in this regard.
In this situations, the Congress MP will march from Vijay Chowk to Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday days. The march will start at 11:15 pm local time. Rahul Gandhi will lead the march.
K Suresh said that after the march, senior Congress MPs led by Rahul Gandhi will meet President Ramnath Gobind. They will give a memorandum to the President seeking his intervention in resolving the ongoing peasant movement. This memorandum has the signatures of about two crore people.
The country’s farmers have been protesting for the repeal of India’s controversial agricultural law.
The agitating farmers have been staying at the Delhi border since November 26.
Three controversial bills on agriculture were recently passed almost withouts discussion in the Badal session of the Indian Parliament. From then on, peasant dissatisfaction was born in every state.
Despite several rounds of talks with the government, the farmers have announced that they will continue their agitation until the controversial agricultural law is repealed. The central government of India has called a meeting of the farmers’ leaders next Sunday to discuss the issue anew.
